Las Vegas Production Company Invests $1 Million In Second Quarter

LAS VEGAS – D A V Productions, a Las Vegas production company, invested an estimated $1 million dollars in production and multimedia equipment during the second quarter of 2001. In addition to the purchase of Las Vegas-based Abstract Lighting, Inc., D A V Productions purchased sixteen Martin Mac 2000 moving lights and boasts the first AVID 1000XL editing system with dual-channel uncompressed video in Las Vegas.

D A V’s production department handles the administrative elements of live shows, general sessions, convention booths, and special events. Their clients include AT&T, McDonald’s, Nortel, and local destination management companies such as The Alan Waxler Group, PGI, and USA Hosts.

D A V’s video and multimedia department utilizes the latest digital technology, cameras, formats, and computers combined with a high level of creativity and fresh, new ideas to meet their clients’ needs. Convention roll-ins, corporate training videos, and commercials are edited on their two AVID broadcast systems. An AVID XpressDV is used for small format editing, CD ROM, Web Streaming, and DVD creation.

D A V’s third department handles equipment rental. D A V Productions owns all the equipment needed to produce their events: video projectors and switchers, lighting fixtures, dimming and control and audio mixers, speakers, microphones and processors. Ben Brownback, Operations Director, says “Because we have our own equipment, we can vouch for its operation and maintenance. And, since we don’t have to sub-contract the equipment, we pass significant savings along to our clients.”

D A V Productions was founded in 1999 by Dave Schwarz, formerly a communications consultant for McDonald’s Corporation. Dave has fifteen years of experience working for McDonald’s, and attributes that experience to his success: “I owe our client skills, attention to detail, and ‘whatever it takes’ attitude to my corporate background. Climbing the ladder in a Fortune 500 company can be invaluable… analyzing the processes, understanding the expectations and knowing what it’ll take to exceed them, learning from vendors’ mistakes . . . having been a demanding client myself and understanding that world has helped me become a successful vendor.”

Dave and his wife Robin attend Central Christian Church, where Dave is highly involved as a volunteer in the technical department. He produces most of the video roll-ins that Central uses in their services and recently donated a video editing system to their student ministries program. Dave didn’t comment, but Ben Brownback states, “We have a lot of resources here, and Dave is committed to using them to give back to the community”. In addition, D A V does pro bono work for the Women’s Resource Center of Southern Nevada and several Las Vegas area schools.

D A V is Productions located in the Quail Air Center at 125 E. Reno Ave, Suite 4 and can be visited online at www.dav-vegas.com.
