The Best Seminar Ever… Really!
TBSE stayed true to its bold name. The seminar was jam-packed with two thrilling days of entertainment, enthusiasm and education for dentists and their teams, brought exclusively to them by The Madow Group. This year marked DAV ‘s seventh consecutive year working with Rich and Dave Madow, along with the support staff of The Madow Group, to pull off an outrageous show. According to The Green Zone, the official blog of the Eco-Dentistry Association, “TBSE was a massive production and a huge success.” The Madow Brothers hosted the seminar on 11.11.11 at the Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
Moving On Up!!!
It’s with great pleasure that I announce that we’ve promoted both Amy Quigg & Ryan Legue to the position of Vice President effective immediately. Both will report directly to me and will be tasked with additional responsibilities within our organization. This is the first time we’ve had a Vice President within our company since I was a Vice President years ago. There’s nobody more deserving than these two, so I hope that you’ll take a minute to congratulate them.
Below is the press release that went to the news agencies, the University of Illinois and Production Trade Organizations.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NOVEMBER 16, 2011
LAS VEGAS, NV – Las Vegas based video and event production company, DAV Productions, announced the promotion of Amy Quigg to Vice President of Communications and Ryan Legue to Vice President of Sales & Marketing.
Amy Quigg is DAV Productions’ longest-tenured employee. She began in the summer of 2000 as a video editor and it was immediately clear that she had the potential for much more than what she had been hired to do.
“We wouldn’t be the company we are today without Amy playing a significant role” says DAV Productions President Dave Schwarz. “Every time we expanded our capabilities and developed new business, she stepped to new challenges without missing a beat. From managing our media department, to writing concepts for national broadcast spots, Amy inspires everyone around with her energy, passion and creativity.”
Ryan Legue has led the DAV Productions’ sales team since 2002. Ryan is responsible for securing the company’s largest clients and is highly regarded for his ability to deliver exceptional results.
According to CEO Ben Brownback “Ryan has always looked at our business from the perspective of upper management. He builds teams, creates experiences, and thrills our customers; always with a high level of ownership. He’s a key leader in our organization, and we’re pleased to formalize his position on the executive management team.”
“Both Amy and Ryan embody all of the qualities that you would hope for in members of your ‘inner circle’” says Brownback. “They have the work ethic, leadership skills, and experience in the industry to help us build on our incredible momentum. I’m grateful for what they bring to our team and honored to recognize them in this way.”

Let’s Race!
DAV is proud to have been involved in St. Rose Dominican Hospital’s Rose Regatta event at Lake Las Vegas for the past two years. The event benefits breast cancer services at St. Rose hospitals and features dragon boat racing, drum & dance performances, a touching “Flowers on the Water” ceremony and more.
DAV’s Bobby Soto shot & edited a short video, highlighting the day’s activities.
Going Green
DAV headed to the Los Angeles Center Studios last week to shoot and edit a quick turn highlight video for the Opportunity Green Business Conference. During this event companies meet together to collaborate ideas and learn how to save energy, be more resourceful in new and innovative ways and transform the way they do business to better help the environment. The event is sponsored by BMW, Gensler and Southwest Airlines just to name a few, and some of the attendees this year included Adrian Grenier, Don Cheadle and Vincent Kartheiser. During our time on the sound stage lots, Mad Men was busy shooting their show next door! It was a fun event in a very cool location with beautiful weather all week so we were happy to work this event.
Angel Tree Winter Celebration Toy Drive
This year DAV Production is one of the sponsors for the Angel Tree Winter Celebration Toy Drive starting Monday, November 14th – Friday, December 9th, 2011.
These donated toys will help us bring hope and encouragement to over 3,500 children in the Clark County Foster Care System with the goal of helping each one of them to feel special and remembered during the holiday season. The goal is to obtain 3,500 toys, one for each of the children in the Southern Nevada Foster Care System. This event will give hope to the 3,500 children in the Southern Nevada protective foster care system that have been neglected, abandoned, and abused.
We are excited to be just a small part of this toy drive. Here’s our address if you have the means to contribute toys:

2011 Out & Equal Workplace Summit
The team is back from Dallas after the 2011 Out & Equal Workplace Summit at the Hilton Anatole. The program was packed with over four days of events, including a fashion show featuring JC Penny’s new fall lines. Over 2,600 attendees enjoyed 35 breakout rooms, general sessions each day and a gala dinner.
Long gone are the days of the traditional rectangular-shaped stage for the general sessions, we used a triangular one to bring the presenters and audience closer together. Over the course of the summit, Margaret Cho, Meredith Baxter, Wilson Cruz, Kate Clinton, Andy Cohen and many more entertained the full house of attendees. With an entertainment line-up like that, we had to make sure everyone had a great view. We used three screens atop the stage to create a jumbo-tron setting and two additional screens were hung half-way through the room for delay, allowing for amazing video rolls throughout the entire room.
Every moment was captured throughout the week’s events for the highlight video that played at the last general session.

Welcome back, Mr. President!
DAV Productions was honored for a fourth time to work with The White House and President Barack Obama in Las Vegas. Unlike typical presidential visits and press conferences, this event was not held at a secure indoor location. The President wanted to connect directly with a family and neighborhood affected by the economic housing crisis so the event was held in a local family’s driveway, the Bonilla’s. The entire street was transformed in just two days to accommodate both the security of the President and the press pools. With less than 48 hours notice, DAV Productions organized and coordinated several local vendors to provide staging, press tents and lighting for the arrival of the President. After a round-table discussion inside the Bonilla’s residence, President Obama addressed the need for action on the jobs bill and announced an expansion of a federal program to aid homeowners who owe more on their mortgages than their home is worth.

TRIRGA, an IBM Company, User Conference 2011
Since 2008, DAV Productions has worked with TRIRIGA, an IBM Company, each year to impress their attendees and leave them excited to come back for more. Their Annual User Conference kicked-off right in our own backyard at The M Resort, in Henderson, Nevada. The general session featured a waffle wall backdrop with a center screen and two outer jumbo screens.
With over 100 different breakout sessions available, attendees had a busy week of learning, receiving hands-on guidance and having some fun mingling at the poolside reception. We provided lighting and audio for the reception, complete with a performance from Vegas’ own, a cappella group, Mosaic. For the closing session, our media team worked all week long to produce a highlight video of the week’s events.

ADCOLOR Awards & Industry Conference 2011
This year marked the 5th Anniversary for the ADCOLOR Industry Coalition, and we were there to help them do it big at their Annual Awards and Industry Conference. From the interactive town hall session to the awards show, DAV Productions helped to make this year’s ADCOLOR Conference one to remember. The town hall featured an impressive panel of executives from top companies like Google and Time Warner. It wasn’t just your traditional panel, students and the executives interacted both face-to-face and via twitter during the session. Through the use of ParaTweet, we displayed the live twitter feed for everyone to be involved during the town hall. The conference, held at the Beverly Hilton, came to a close at the Awards session where we used an LED backdrop for dramatic effects. George Lopez, Spike Lee and Dan Wieden were just a few big-names among the honorees this year.

Are you ready for Illini Football?!?!?!
DAV Productions created this :30 spot for the University of Illinois’ Division of Intercollegiate Athletics, to promote the upcoming football season. We wanted to try to capture the “essence” of a football game, including some of the sights & sounds, but going beyond just game highlights. The footage was shot during the last season, using a Canon 5D with a 70 – 200mm f/2.8 lens.
